2018 to be observed as Visit Nepal Year

The government of Nepal has officially declared that it will observe 2018 as 'Visit Nepal Year' with a goal to welcome one million tourists in the country. The declaration has come in the affect of fall in tourist arrivals due to the devastating earthquake of 2015 April 25 and disruptions in the southern border of Nepal.

The government has formulated various promotional programs prior to the Visit Nepal Year 2018 so that to promote and success of the program. Nepal Government has also formulated required policies and strategies for the year 2016/17 regarding the program.

Nepal government had observed similar campaign in the year 2011 with a target of bringing one million tourists which failed to deliver the desired result. However, the recent announcement is expected to revive the fragile tourism sector of the country hit by the earthquake and the blockade.
